CANSA BREAST HEALTH WALK 2016
The 27th October 2016 saw the 3rd annual CANSA Breast Health Walk take place at Blue Mountain Village. With a crowd of more than 1300, donning pink attire and walking for such a worthy cause, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. More than R40,000.00 was raised for CANSA from this event! We were thrilled to have Councillor Iona Kritizinger, Speaker of George Municipality, officiating at our 5km Walk.
George Mediclinic entered 60 participants, Dr Scribante & Partners 33, Working on Fire 30 and George High School 30. The enthusiasm of the crowd was magnificent and we are confident that this Walk will grow in stature and become a must on every walkers’ Calendar.
A lot of preparation is required to make such an event a success and special thanks must go to our gardening team for ensuring our walkers enjoyed a clean and safe estate. Several of our Homeowners arranged waterpoints for participants and the Blue Mountain Carenet Retirement Estate Club Committee took on the task of selling boerewors rolls again.
It was an absolute delight welcoming Eden FM to our beautiful Estate and being given the opportunity to host this event live on radio. A future repeat will definitely be the Zumba warm up by Angie!!
